Photo Booth Attendant
Description:
Flash Co. provides photo and video booth services for events and parties and is looking for outgoing, independent people who value picking up casual shifts in a social environment over the typical part time office job. This is a great opportunity to get started working in the events industry, picking up casual evening and weekend work in Calgary (and surrounding areas), Kananaskis, Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise.
About Flash Co.: Flash Co. provides elevated and curated photo and video booth experiences for weddings, private events, and corporate activations. Our booths are sleek, modern and easy to use. Our photo booth enclosures contains a DSLR camera connected to a touch screen tablet or ipad, strobe and printer. With a quick tap of the tablet, a photo is taken and physical prints as well as digital files are available to users within seconds. In addition to photo booths we offer slow motion and 360 video booth experiences. We typically take on 80-100 events per year. We offer shifts anytime during the week but the majority of bookings happen late afternoon/evenings M-F and weekends. Our busiest season is May through Dec 31st with a slower off-season January-April.

Your role: Attendants complete set up and take down of the photo or video booth at events and ensure smooth operation and guest engagement throughout the event.
This role requires:
- Pick up of the photo booth system at our offices and load the equipment into your vehicle
- Drive to the event location (events can take place in Calgary & the surrounding areas, Kananaskis, Canmore, Banff or Lake Louise)
- Set up photo/video booth, complete system checks and send photos to your event contact for quality control.
- Monitoring the booth throughout the event, interacting with guests and delivering a professional customer service experience consistent with Flash Co.’s brand standards.
- You will be delivering services at weddings, galas, private parties and celebrations. You will be dealing with large groups of people who are consuming alcohol.
- Performing on-site trouble shooting and fixing technical issues
- Disassembly of the photo booth and packing it into your vehicle
- Delivering the equipment to our home studio at the end of service
Experience: Considering most of our events are at weddings and corporate parties, having some experience at these types of events as a vendor/assistant is an asset but not required. Experience in the hotel, service, catering or banquet industries can be an asset. Comfort working with large groups of people in a loud is an asset. No photography or video experience is required but if you have a knack for tech this can be an asset. The booth is mostly plug and play but does have a few technical aspects that keep it running smoothly.
Requirements:
- A valid Driver’s License
- Access to a reliable vehicle, preferably your own
- Can lift 30-50lbs into and out of your vehicle
- Have a Flexible schedule and available to pick up shifts late afternoons, evenings and weekends
- Fun loving, professional and an out-going attitude
- Service forward approach to work
- Feels comfortable working with large groups of people in a loud environment
- On the spot problem solving skills
- Attention to detail and an independent worker
- Dresses professionally to work events
Strongly Recommended:
- General knowledge of DSLR photography/video and basic lighting set ups
- Experience working with the public in a customer service or events related setting including but not limited to: brand ambassadorship, catering, weddings, corporate events, food and beverage, hotels & accommodations, hospitality or in retail.
- Some experience photographing individuals, couples or groups of people is an asset
Ideal Candidate:
We prefer to hire based on a personality fit within the team, we can train you on the rest of the role. We are looking for team members who thrive in social environments, don’t mind working late nights and can work independently or as part of a team.
Experience with events including weddings, banquets, catering and/or the service industry
Extroverted, great with people, enjoys being in a social atmosphere
Enjoys the flexibility of picking up casual shifts and working independently
Comfortable with simple technical tasks and on-site problem solving
Has their own vehicle
Free to work afternoons, evenings and weekends (including holidays and long weekends)
Comfortable driving throughout Calgary and to Kananaskis, Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise for events
Comfortable driving at night and in winter conditions
What we offer:
An hourly rate plus parking expenses and travel remuneration for mountain based events. Please inquire for current hourly rates.
About the owners of Flash Co.: Erin and Andrew are partners in business and in life. Currently we own and operate two portrait focused event Brands that service Calgary and The Bow Valley. We started as wedding photographers in 2010 and saw a gap in the industry. Flash Co. was created to offer beautiful portraits of guests at weddings, galas and events. We started this service in 2014 and have never looked back.
